Albinism Awareness Project
Rick Thompson, Chair - rick.thompson@albinism.org
The Albinism Awareness Project is an an on-going
activity of NOAH since one of the primary missions of the organization is
to "educate professionals" about albinism. This particular project
deals strictly with the production and distribution of NOAH information bulletins
to doctors. The purpose of the Albinism Awareness Project is to produce and
distribute NOAH information bulletins to selected target groups of physicians
to increase the awareness of albinism among the medical community. Very few
medical professionals specialize in or have a detailed knowledge of albinism.
Information packet will be printed and mailed directly to all pediatric ophthalmologists
and genetics counselors in the United States. If sufficient funds are raised,
this group will be expanded to include other specialists who would come in
contact with patients with albinism and to medical libraries.
