We want YOU for the Summer Issue of Albinism InSight!
Submitting an article is a great way for you to share your knowledge and experience with the albinism community. We are looking for contributions related to:
SUMMER FEATURES:
Getting Outdoors
Summer is a wonderful time to enjoy the outdoors (in most climates)! Tell us about your favorite outdoor activities and let us know how you navigate those long, bright, sunny days! How do you manage places that may pose problems for people with albinism, like the beach, the park, or the journey through nature?
Albinism and Food – Yum!
Food is a huge aspect of daily life that may require some creative adjustments from people with albinism. How do you read menus at restaurants and recipes in your kitchen? How do you involve all your senses in the measurement, organization, and cooking of good food? Did you ever order the wrong thing, and how did it go?
IN EVERY ISSUE:
Daily Living
Share your tips & tricks for getting through the everyday.
Education
Including elementary through college, continuing education, and the workplace. Topics may include standardized testing, IEPs, extra curriculars, college entrance prep, quad living, online classes, and making friends.
Advocacy
Stories about people or organizations who have made a difference in the albinism community, whether through local, national or international campaigns.
Technology
What are the new devices, apps, and platforms that you’re loving in school, at home, at work, or otherwise?
Albinism, Race, Gender, and Sexual Orientation
We each move through the world with identities that activate and are activated by albinism. How have your experiences as a person with albinism informed the other aspects of who you are, and visa versa?
Noteworthy Events
A graduation, a wedding, a birth, an award, an accomplishment or other notable achievement.
Teen and Youth
Do you or a young person you know have a cutting edge and creative perspective to share?
