Pre-Conference Social Activities

Join us for a pre-conference meet up with friends from the albinism community at Disneyland!

**Note** if you are planning to participate in a Thursday afternoon excursion, please arrive and be prepared to leave the hotel by noon on Thursday!

Downtown Disney

Downtown Disney Meet-Up & Self-Guided Scavenger Hunt 

Approximately 12:30 – 4:30 p.m.

No registration limit

Downtown Disney, only a short drive from the conference hotel, is home to 22 restaurants, numerous entertainment and nightlife spots, and countless stores and attractions.  You can go bowling at Splitsville Luxury Lanes, experience the latest in virtual reality at The VOID: Step Beyond Reality, and build your mind’s creations at the interactive Lego Store.  There’s Salt and Straw Ice Cream, there’s a Disney Store, and there’s so much fun to be had!

Meet us at Downtown Disney to explore on your own or with NOAH friends.  We will host several meet-ups during the afternoon, including a self-guided family scavenger hunt through Downtown Disney.  To get there, you can take the hotel’s Disney shuttle bus, drive, grab a ride, or walk.  

 It will be an afternoon of Disney magic and NOAH friends!

Packing District Map

Anaheim Packing House Food Market

Approximately 12:30 – 4:00 p.m.

Looping round-trip transportation to this great American market hall, in an historically preserved and retrofitted citrus packing warehouse. 

The Packing House is a former citrus packing facility built in 1919, which has been converted into a trendy food hall and hub for local artisans.  A trip to the Packing House is a perfect way for you to taste and explore some of Anaheim’s local establishments, in a fun, modern space, including several Instagram-famous offerings, such as dry ice mochi balls.  Lunch will be on your own at the Packing House. Buses will make multiple trips between the hotel and the Packing House, so you can go and return as you please.  

Pali Wine Co

21+ Wine Tasting and Anaheim Packing House Food Market 

Approximately 12:00 – 4:00 p.m.
$39 per person

The Packing House is a former citrus packing facility built in 1919, which has been converted into a trendy food hall and hub for local artisans.  A trip to the Packing House is a perfect way for you to taste and explore some of Anaheim’s local establishments, in a fun, modern space, including several Instagram-famous offerings, such as dry ice mochi balls.  Lunch will be on your own at the Packing House. Buses will make multiple trips between the hotel and the Packing House, so you can go and return as you please.  

For adults only, please join us for the first shuttle bus to the Packing House, which will be specifically for adults.  Then after lunch, join us for an adult-only wine tasting (for 21+ guests). You will walk across the street to Pali Wine Co. for a private wine tasting to learn about California winemaking.  You will participate in a one-hour private wine lesson and tasting, featuring a flight of four locally-produced wines. You will then enjoy a glass of your favorite while mingling with NOAH friends, old and new!  Excursion price includes a wine flight plus one additional glass of wine.  

Guests of all ages are welcome to enjoy the Packing House, but the wine tasting is strictly limited to guests over the age of 21 as of the event date.  

President Nixon

Nixon Presidential Library Tour and Private Lunch

Approximately 12:00 pm – 4:30 p.m.
$55 per person

Join us on an outing to the Nixon Presidential Library and Museum!  Charter buses will take you to the library, where we will have a private lunch and an opportunity to explore the library’s beautiful gardens and grounds.

You will then participate in a private guided tour of the library specifically designed for low-vision visitors.  You will see a replica of President Nixon’s Oval Office – and have the chance to take a photo behind his desk – and you will sit inside Army One, President Nixon’s actual Presidential helicopter.  You will also explore President Nixon’s childhood home (later relocated to the library’s grounds) and the library’s Summer 2020 special exhibits. This will be a one-of-a-kind way to experience the Nixon Presidential Library!


Optional Evening Activities (During Conference)

FRIDAY

Huntington Beach

Huntington Beach Trip 

Approximately 4:30 – 9:30 p.m.
$16 per person

No vacation to Southern California is complete without a trip to the beach, and there’s no better time to visit than sunset!  Huntington Beach, located about 40 minutes from the hotel, has fun for everyone. There is a boardwalk, numerous restaurants, bars, shops, and plenty of outdoor activities like pickleball courts and disc golf.  Huntington Beach is home to several breweries and a distillery, that hosts tours and tastings. There are also several park areas to explore and the beautiful Secret Garden, as well as soft sand and clear Pacific waters.

Charter buses will transport you back and forth to Huntington Beach, where you will have the evening to eat and explore on your own.  All attendees will receive a customized NOAH guide to Huntington Beach and discounts at certain local establishments.

Jasmine Star

Jasmine Star Private Movie Screening 

Approximately 4:30 – 9:00 pm
$20 per person

Join us for an exclusive, private screening of the feature film Jasmine Star, which is a coming-of-age story of a 16-year old girl with albinism who dreams of becoming a model. Buses will transport you to the AMC Orange 30, located in the Outlets at Orange, where there are a variety of dining and shopping options.  Then join us for a private screening of Jasmine Star, followed by a question and answer session with the movie’s director and others involved with the movie.

SATURDAY

In-N-Out Burger Logo

In-N-Out® Burger Food Truck

Saturday, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
$10 per meal

In-N-Out® Burger is a California classic, and they will be bringing their standout burgers to the NOAH conference!  On Saturday evening, before the dessert reception and nighttime improv show, join your NOAH family for an outdoor cookout at the conference hotel.  In-N-Out® Burger trucks will be grilling up their classic hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and grilled cheese.

If you would like to enjoy In-N-Out® , please purchase a meal ticket ahead of time.  Each meal ticket includes either a hamburger, cheeseburger, or grilled cheese, as well as chips and a drink.  If you do not purchase your meal tickets by the registration deadline, we are not able to guarantee that extra food will be available day-of.

Relax and celebrate with friends new and old at the albinism community’s biggest party! We’ll have a D.J., sweets and treats, and a cash bar. 

 

Comedy & Improv Show

New! Comedy and Improv Show

NEW THIS CONFERENCE!  On Saturday night, after the dessert reception, NOAH will be hosting a comedy and improv show!  LA’s comedy and improv scene is one of the most well-known in the world, and several local performers will be bringing us laughs and fun with both stand-up comedy and an interactive improv show.  Comedian and actor, Dennis Hurley is confirmed to warm up the audience with a Stand-Up routine. You won’t want to miss it! A cash bar will be available.
