Thursday
PWA Paint and Sip
5:30pm – 7:00pm PT (8:30pm – 10:00pm ET)

Do you love to paint? Or have you always wanted to try your hand at a brush but didn’t know where to start? Well, grab a glass of wine, relax, and create your very own Masterpiece with your other PWA’s guided by teaching artist, Gloria Coulston (Mother to NOAH Member, Marleena Barber). Participants can purchase basic paint kit on Amazon https://smile.amazon.com/Art-Supply-14-Piece-Acrylic-Painting/dp/B00PR5L02U, or use their own supplies.
Supplies list:
1 8X10. 10X12 or 12X16 White Canvas
Red, Yellow, White and Black acrylic paint
1 flat 1-2 inch brush
1 thin tipped brush
A cup of water to rinse brush between colors
Paper towels
Paper plate or paint palette for mixing paint
Optional – hair dryer to help paint dry quickly

Ask the Doctors: Adults with Albinism
10:30am – 11:30am PT (1:30pm -2:30pm ET)
In this session geared to adults with albinism, a panel of top scientists in the field of albinism research will be available to answer your questions and satisfy your thirst for knowledge about albinism.
This session is moderated by Donna Appell, RN.
PWA Hobbies Breakout Sessions

Interested in connecting with other PWA’s who share the same interests? Share your passion and tips and tricks for doing the things you love!
PWA Cocktail Hour
6:00pm – 7:00pm PT (9:00pm – 10:00pm ET)
(Adults 21+ ONLY)
Learn about the art of mixing cocktails and prepare a special NOAH Conference inspired drink. Enjoy socializing with other PWA’s.
Ingredient list: Gin, orange liquor (like Triple Sec or Cointreau), a lemon (or lemon juice), an egg (optional).

Resilience & Self-care

Living with albinism isn’t always easy. To be happy, self-actualized adults, people with albinism and their families need to find ways to cope with and learn from the not-so-good experiences. This quality of resilience is not innate. It can be taught and nurtured in people of any age. In this session, we will discuss what makes resilient people unique and how to help yourself develop these qualities and put them into practice.

Stares, Smirks & Shout Outs

This session, which is intended exclusively for adults with albinism, will address how to deal with negative experiences in public and how to maintain self-esteem and dignity in difficult situations – from the blatantly rude person who yells “Hey, albino!” to the hilariously annoying inquisitor who asks, “Where did you get such white hair?” We will explore the emotions, behaviors and thought processes that these experiences bring about in us and discuss tips to minimize their impact. attendees will receive suggestions they can use in their daily lives to cope with the occasional challenges of living with albinism.
