Are You Ready for the Transition to College?
It’s essential to be aware of the services and accommodations available after high school. Is your child prepared to transition into college or the workforce as their own advocate in pursuit of their personal and professional goals? What agencies are available to provide the assistance your child needs to be successful in this new adventure?
Find your breath and enjoy a morning stretch with this Yoga Class specially for Adults with Albinism.
Kids Ask a Teen with Albinism
A talkative team of teens with albinism will tell their tales. This session will be an opportunity for kids to quiz a panel of high school aged people with albinism about their experience living with albinism.
Stares, Smirks & Shout Outs
Kelsey Thompson, M.S., CRC, CCM, LCPC
This session, which is intended exclusively for adults with albinism, will address how to deal with negative experiences in public and how to maintain self-esteem and dignity in difficult situations – from the blatantly rude person who yells “Hey, albino!” to the hilariously annoying inquisitor who asks, “Where did you get such white hair?” We will explore the emotions, behaviors and thought processes that these experiences bring about in us and discuss tips to minimize their impact. attendees will receive suggestions they can use in their daily lives to cope with the occasional challenges of living with albinism.
Kids Ask an Adult with Albinism
A panel of adults with albinism who are willing to tell it like it is will take questions from kids. This promises to be a lively, informative and wide-ranging discussion of interesting topics.
